Tavern Quest Game Design Document
As part of the Unreal Engine Game Design professional certificate course on Coursera, we were tasked with creating a game design document for a game idea we came up with. There were no limitations on themes so here is the GDD I made for a game called Tavern Quest.
Tavern Quest is a co-op dungeon crawling, action rpg, set in a low-poly, isometric, fantasy world. You and up to 3 other players can take quests, gain loot, and level up your guild rank to take on more dangerous quests for even better loot.

As a huge fan of Halo, I was pretty disappointed with Infinite’s progression systems. I tried to put myself in their shoes and design progression and commendation systems that rewarded playing the game however you wanted, highlights not just your skill but your experience with the game, and as a bonus promotes the purchase of campaign and/or game pass.
